tired valis is tired

  • Dec. 22nd, 2009 at 11:47 PM
Trying to go to bed, but as usual for late, Etsy just will not let me upload pics. It sits and sits, totally hung up on who-knows-what, and I'm so stubborn and I just want to do one more listing and yet I'm so tired I can barely keep my eyes open. Good times.

grah.

At least tomorrow I'll see the lovely [info]gypsyjolie! Thank goodness for that.

ETA: I GIVE UP. WE HATES IT. FOREVER.

Holidays looming large

  • Dec. 21st, 2009 at 3:23 PM
Today I have a little breathing room, but not much.

First of all, a huge thank you to [info]lady_branwyn! The lovely holiday lights are so much appreciated, and you're a sweetheart to think of me. *hugs*

Second, Happy Solstice, to everybody who celebrates it!

On to the boring stuff.

On Friday I was walking past the dryer, and thought, what the hell, might as well try it again just for kicks. And it started. Sounds like hell, but it works. So the weekend was spent doing endless laundry (seventeen loads, I think) and getting to know the fancy washer. It's rather amazing, honestly, and it has tons of options, but I already am seeing that some of them are kind of useless. Handwash and Bulky Items both leave the clothes so incredibly wet that it's lunacy to put them in the dryer, for example. Well, this dryer, at least.

I also spent the weekend in front of the computer. Seems like a nice, relaxing thing, but in reality I was working on eBay and Etsy listings and going a little nuts getting all the new stuff up. It's finally done.

So now I just have to tie myself to a chair and start crafting gifts. eee! There's just not enough time for this stuff, you know? At least this year is a lot calmer, because we don't have to worry about moving and unpacking.

Oh yeah...we've been in the house for a year now! Huzzah! I love it so much.

Well, that was all kinds of pointless. lol!

ETA: Oh, and I found my wedding ring! I mean, it's only a $15 plain band, but still. It's been missing for at least two months. Whew!

X Files: start watching your game show sister

  • Dec. 20th, 2009 at 11:57 AM
  • [Krycek:] My head is in Scully's lap and she's stroking the sides of my face with her strong little hands...She must not realize the phenomenal view I've got from down here. God, I love her thighs. She could use some Oil of Olay on that throat, though. Those lines are gonna be ugly in another fifteen years.

    Such a romantic, that Krycek.

  • Summary: Scully gets poisoned then someone messes with her brakes and gets in a car accident.

Wait...who gets into the car accident?

  • Summary: [Mulder and Scully have] seen each other naked. They've seen each other dead. There has to be a reason why they haven't gone to bed.

Those are the criteria for having sex? Seriously? Seeing each other naked? Okay, maybe that second one is a bit tougher to manage.

Yay, stats!

  • Dec. 16th, 2009 at 9:16 PM
Wow, LJ now has statistics! For paid users only, looks like A little more info.

My obsessive heart is overjoyed.

Looks like about 40 or so people regularly read my journal, which is about what I thought. The 290+ people on my flist looks pretty impressive until you realize that a lot of them have fallen off LJ.

Still no dryer. I'm starting to get creative with my outfits for work. I have no idea what I'll do if this goes on another week. Beg my sister for the use of her laundry machines, most likely.

In happy news, I don't have to work on Friday. I wasn't scheduled to come in but I thought I might have to, but after finishing most of the stuff I needed to do for the week today, it looks like I'll be able to use tomorrow to catch up on last week's work, and thus keep Friday free and clear. This is great because I have new eBay auctions (which require more work than just relisting the same items) and I still am massively behind on Etsy.

Still trying to finish a teensy fic! I just don't seem to be able to coordinate brainpower and free time. lol.

Getting Ahead of Myself...

  • Dec. 13th, 2009 at 8:26 PM
Well, the trees are up (one in the living room, one in the conservatory), the outdoor lights are up, the cards are scattered around the place, and a lot of food stuff is sorted, including pastry for making mince pies, jam tarts, lemon curd tart and ground rice tarts, and apple pies. The stuffing has been made and is in the freezer, and today I made dozens of vanilla kipferl biscuits, a Poruguese bacalhau mix so I can make fish cakes in future, and I finished off by completing this:

And this:

X-Files: Now with Teletubbies

  • Dec. 13th, 2009 at 12:28 PM
  • Summary: On New Year's Day, Krycek gives Mulder a big surprise.

Since the genre list includes "Mpreg," we can all guess the surprise, methinks.

  • [The villainess] glared at me, hissed and launched herself at me again in a move any flying squirrel would be proud of.

I am restraining myself from making a Rocky and Bullwinkle joke.

  • Skinner had to smile. He could practically hear [Scully's] unspoken thoughts screaming: 'He never jumped *my* bones!' with proper Catholic indignation.
